With the Save the Stripes efforts to get the lighthouse re-painted in 2013, it was only a matter of time before the lighthouse needed to be repainted again – and it has happened, in August 2025.
The original paint, which was kindly donated by Hempel Crown, had a suggested life-span of 10 years. So it has done pretty well to last almost 12 years – especially with the constant battering from the wind, rain and sea that the lighthouse receives in its position at the base of the cliffs at Beachy Head.
As the lighthouse is owned and maintained by Trinity House, this time they have funded the project themselves. They also kept the maintenance pretty low key with no apparent mention on the news and only a few posts on social media – specifically the Saves the Stripes channel on Facebook.
The repainting of the lighthouse was completed on the 9th August 2025.
The maintenance company contracted by Trinity House, repainted the lighthouse using abseil techniques – just as they did previously in 2013.
Boat support was provided from Sovereign Harbour by Cutts Marine.

A big thanks to Trinity House for continuing to maintain and care for the Beachy Head Lighthouse and making it look great for another ten years plus.
